Austin Jackson led off the game for Detroit with a solo home run, his third of the year.  Jhonny Peralta continued his hot hitting with a solo blast in the 5th, his 5th of the season.

The Tigers and Royals play again tomorrow afternoon at Comerica Park, Brad Penny gets the start for Detroit.  4:10 first pitch.

Magglio Ordonez was placed on the 15 day disabled list due to continuing pain in his surgically repaired ankle.  Andy Dirks gets the call to the Big Leagues from Toledo to take Ordonez' roster spot.  Dirks was hitting .328 at Toledo with 20 RBI and six homers.  It is possible that Maggs could be out longer than 15 days with his injury.
