The Tiger pitching has been pretty good so far in the ALCS, but the Rangers have been better and that's why Detroit trailed 2 games to none going into tonight's game at Comerica Park. The Rangers got to Fister for a run in the first inning and then the game settled into another pitcher's duel as neither team would score until Victor Martinez reached the seats in the 4th with a solo homer to tie the game at 1-1. Fister took control from there while his teammates got their bats going. Miguel Cabrera had an RBI double in the 5th to put the Tigers ahead 2-1, Jhonny Peralta blasted a solo homer to extend the lead to 3-1 in the 6th
Austin Jackson knocked in Andy Dirks to put the Tigers up 4-1 and Miguel Cabrera hit a bomb in the 7th to make it 5-1. Fister allowed a leadoff double to start the 8th and that run would come around to score to make it 5-2. Joaquin Benoit and Jose Valverde held the Ranger hitters in check the rest of the way and the Tigers got thier first win in the ALCS and can tie the series with a win tomorrow afternoon.

Rick Porcello will try for his first postseason win against Texas lefty Matt Harrison. The Tigers have had pretty good success against Harrison in a couple of starts this season. Let's hope it continues. First pitch is scheduled for 4:19 pm.
