Rick Porcello didn't have it tonight.  He gave up 7 runs to the New York Mets and didn't make it out of the 4th inning.  Daniel Schlereth relieved Porcello and appeared to throw gas on the fire.  By the time Schlereth hit the showers, the Tigers were down 13-0.

Meanwhile, the Tiger batters couldn't seem to do anything against knuckleballer R.A. Dickey.  Austin Jackson and Andy Dirks both hit home runs to account for all the Detroit scoring.  The Mets hadn't hit a grand slam since 2009.  They hit two tonight.

Tomorrow is a new day, and the Tigers and Mets will play again at 7:05 pm.  Phil Coke will try to improve on his 1-7 record against New York's Chris Capuano, who is 6-7.
