After losing a hearbreaker in 14 innings last night/early this morning to Cleveland 3-2, the Tigers looked like a beaten team from the get-go in tonight's game with the Indians. Cleveland pounded out 18 hits and chased Tiger starter Rick Porcello in the 4th inning. The Indians scored 1 in the first, 3 in the second, 4 in the 4th and 2 more in the 6th on the way to a 10-3 beatdown of the Tigers.

The Tiger lead over Cleveland in the American League Central division is now just two games. Don't look now, but 3rd-place Chicago won it's 5th straight game tonight and is right behind the Indians. The Tigers and Indians play each other 10 more times this season, tomorrow night Tiger ace Justin Verlander (16-5) will face Fausto Carmona (5-11) in the final game of this 3-game series in Cleveland. The Indians are 6-2 against the Tigers this season, and have won 12 straight at Progressive Field over Detroit. A win tomorrow night buys the Tigers some breathing room. The Indians were looking a little too confident tonight. Let's hope facing Justin Verlander changes their mood.
