Detroit Tigers Fall To Seattle Mariners 3-2
The Tigers got all of their runs on one swing of the bat by Victor Martinez. That was good enough to hold a 2-1 lead for a while. The Mariners reached the seats one more time than the Tigers did and beat Detroit 3-2.
It was a well-pitched game for both teams, but somebody had to lose. In doing so, the Tigers missed a golden opportunity to pull into a first-place tie with Cleveland in the American League Central division as the Indians were hammered by the Yankees last night.
The Tigers and Mariners will play game 3 of their 4-game series tonight at Comerica Park. First pitch at 7:05. Max Scherzer will be the starting pitcher for Detroit.
