The Tigers looked like they were going to run away with this one.  They jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the very first inning and looked like they might keep adding to it.

But they didn't.  Tiger starting pitcher Brad Penny didn't make it out of the 4th inning, and the next thing you know Cleveland was in the lead 4-3.  Things looked up for a minute as the Tigers tied the game in the bottom of the 4th.  The Indians managed to tack on single runs in the 5th and 7th, while the Tigers would score no more in the final 5 innings.

The loss drops the Tigers back into a tie for first place with Cleveland.  The two teams will wrap up their 3-game series with an afternoon contest at Comerica Park starting at 1:05.  Max Scherzer will go for his 9th win of the season vs. Cleveland's Mitch Talbot.

The Tigers will hit the road after tomorrow's game for 6 games of Interleague play.  Friday night they open a 3-game set in Colorado, then visit Los Angeles for 3 against the Dodgers.
