Detroit Officers Jump Out of Car to Play with Kids

And they had their guns drawn...as in, squirt guns.

Elizabeth Hawkins' 5-year-old daughter Rebecca was playing at Peterson Park over the weekend when two Detroit police officers jumped out of their car to play with the kids in the park.

The officers, identified as Donald Owen and Sha-Mar Bobbi Woods, chased the kids around the park with squirt guns. Hawkins wrote the following to Fox 2 Detroit:

"In today's time most people, and including children are afraid of the police. But on this day to hear all the children laughing and happy having so much fun. It really made EVERYONE feel so good. I as a mother really thank them for the joyful time my daughter and all the other children had."
