News personnel from a Detroit TV station and radio station found themselves under attack early this morning. (8/2)

WXYZ Channel 7 reporter Nia Harden, photojournalist Mike Krotche, and WWJ radio reporter Mike Campbell were covering a fatal pedestrian hit and run at Dexter and Davison on Detroit's west side. A man carrying a beer bottle and an object Harden describes as baton-like approached the stations' vehicles and started swinging.

The man struck the windshield and driver-side window of the radio station's vehicle then smashed the windshield and mirror of the Channel 7 van.

No one was hurt in the altercation. Videos from WXYZ are below.

Reports indicate that the man began striking other vehicles as he walked down Dexter.

Police responded quickly to the scene and arrested the man. A Taser had to be used three times in order to apprehend the man.
