Former Detroit Lions Running Back Mel Farr, who also gained notoriety in Michigan as owner of one of the state's largest Ford dealerships, has died.

Farr began his esteemed career with the Lions in 1967, earning trips to the Pro Bowl in 1967 and 1970. He retired from football after being traded to Houston in 1974, and began to dabble in the auto dealership business.
