Demi Lovato made an appearance at a Hillary Clinton rally yesterday (January 21) at the University of Iowa to show support for presidential contest's lone woman. Demi, herself, said she's voting for Clinton because of "her beliefs, her strength and the fact that she completely embodies the concept of woman empowerment" (check out her words in the video below).

Some of the crowd, on the other hand, decided to vote for Clinton pretty much because Demi, who also performed, said to. Why let policy or partisan lines dictate your choice for the next United States President when a Demi Lovato set can do the same?

An 18-year-old Iowa sophomore told The New York Times he was planning to vote for Republican front-runner Donald Trump at the February 1 Iowa caucuses, but ultimately conceded that "Demi is cool. She’s got my vote." A 20-year-old student also told the Times Lovato drew her to the rally but she's "also interested in Hillary." That, friends, is the Demi-effect.

Olympian Michelle Kwan was among the crowd, and threw her support behind the Hillary/Demi event via Instagram. Katy Perry, Lena Dunham and Kim Kardashian have also come out swinging for Clinton.
