The state of Michigan could see some severe weather on Monday (6/22), and conditions could be favorable for significant tornado activity across the lower peninsula.

Meteorologist Mark Torregrossa reports on M-Live that the biggest threat to West Michigan will come in the second half of the afternoon, while residents of Michigan's east side will see conditions that are more favorable for significant weather in the evening or overnight hours.

I want to remind you this does not mean severe weather is a certainty. It really just means that there is a much higher chance of severe weather compared to a normal storm situation. It also means if the storms develop, they could be on the higher end of severity.

Torregrossa says significant severe weather is defined as having one or more of the following:  An EF2 tornado or stronger, wind gusts of 75 MPH or more, or hail that is 2 inches in diameter or larger.
