With long-running TV shows, change is inevitable. Changes in hosts, sets, theme songs, etc. Just look at the evolution of 'Family Feud' since it debuted in the mid 1970s.

'The Daily Show' is another show that has made some tweaks. When the show launched and was hosted by Craig Kilborn, the theme song was performed by They Might Be Giants. The same band that recorded the theme song for 'Malcolm in the Middle'. When Jon Stewart took over, the song was re-recorded, but stayed pretty much the same. It was re-recorded again midway through Stewart's run as host.

Following the recent retirement of Jon Stewart, Trevor Noah took over the big chair last fall with a new set. But it wasn't until after the holiday hiatus that the new theme song was revealed on the air, and Comedy Central just released the full version of the song along with a time-lapse video of a taping of 'The Daily Show'.

So what do you think of the new version? It keeps the spirit of the first few versions with a modern mix sound. At least they didn't completely change the theme music like 'Family Feud' did when it returned with Louie Anderson in 1999 (terrible all around).
