Coca-Cola in Talks to Make Cannabis-Infused Drinks
The Coca-Cola company is reportedly in talks to begin manufacturing marijuana-infused beverages.
The new report from BNN Bloomberg says that Coke is working with Canada-based Aurora Cannabis in order to manufacture a health-based drink which is said to help ease drinkers' inflammation and pain. The report says the beverage would be infused with CBD — the non-psychoactive ingredient in marijuana -- which would therefore not get consumers high.
When questioned about the possibility of a partnership, a Coca-Cola spokesman told Fox Business that the company is not confirming a relationship with Aurora Cannabis at this time, but is “closely watching the growth of non-psychoactive CBD as an ingredient in functional wellness beverages around the world.”
