The City of Flint will hold a memorial tree lighting ceremony in front of City Hall on Friday afternoon. There will be a tree for firefighters and a tree for police officers to honor those who have fallen in the line of duty. Families and friends of police and firefighters as well as anyone else wishing to take part in the observance are welcome to attend. 

Emergency Manager Darnell Earley, Mayor Dayne Walling, Fire Chief David Cox, Jr., and Police Chief James W. Tolbert will be in attendance. The ceremony begins at 4 p.m.
