Cedar Point Opens This Weekend Here’s What’s New [VIDEO]

Most notable is the revamped Gemini Midway with a pair of new rides. The Pipe Scream is the more radical of the two, with a car that resembles a giant skateboard. It holds 36 guests as they spin around 300 feet of track at about 40 miles per hour.

Along with Gemini area updates, Cedar Point has brought in a new restaurant, Chickie’s and Pete’s, a cheese steak chain from Philadelphia. It’s known for its “crab fries,” which are crinkle-cut French fries sprinkled with special seasoning and served with a side of melted cheese.

Cedar Point has more than 70 rides, is also honoring the Blue Streak, which turns 50 this summer. The 78-foot wooden roller coaster is the park’s oldest.
