Cedar Point used a cryptic video to announce that it will be closing its popular stand-up roller coaster, Mantis. The video features the Grim Reaper roaming the park, while distraught guests express their angst. Then the video reveals the bad news:  "Mantis gets squashed Oct. 19."

In a press release, Jason McClure, Vice President and General Manager of Cedar Point didn't share many details about what will replace the coaster.

“It’s time to say goodbye to one of the park’s coasters, and it’s certainly been a different kind of ride for our guests,” he said. “But we’re extremely excited about what the future holds here at the Roller Coaster Capital of the World™.”

Guests will be able to ride Mantis until 8pm on October 19th.
