For Cato the husky, it was a crime of opportunity!

For police officers, it was the best "collar" they've made in a while.

Anastasia Poison, the manager of a Dollar General store in Clinton, SC knew that her store had been the victim of some thefts but wasn't sure what to make of the situation.

The first clue was the nature of the stolen items; pig ears, dog treats, bones and packets of dog food. The next few clues were found when she played back footage from the store's surveillance camera.

On that footage, Cato, a husky, can be seen working the automatic doors to get in and out of the store. The police were alerted, and Cato spent some time in the local dog pound until his owner could be contacted. A police report was filed, but the store declined to press charges so Cato won't do any jail time. Cato's owner has since offered to reimburse the store for the stolen merchandise.

What's even more funny is that Cato wasn't immediately eating the stolen goods. He was burying them behind the store...maybe to eat them later, when they weren't so "hot"? Or maybe Cato had a lot of dog friends on his Christmas list!
