It's Broadway Week on 'Dancing with the Stars,' and you know what that means — jazz hands! Theatrics! Verbal smackdowns between judges and pros!
The seven remaining couples did their best homages to the Great White Way plus a group dance, and from the looks of things, the pressure is starting to build.

October 21, 2011 The City of Flint, in a rare move, has asked a judge to order Don Williamson, Flint's former mayor, to pick up the tab on a $4.5 million judgment awarded to Flint Police officers. The officers sued the city over Williamson's creation of the controversial Citizens Service Bureau, and won. You can probably expect a long court battle between the city and the former mayor, who resigned in 2009 when he was facing a recall election.
October 20, 2011 The 2nd annual YMCA of Greater Flint Santa Run will take place on December 3rd at noon at the downtown Flint YMCA. The Santa Run/Walk is a charity event featuring a 5k and 1 mile route around downtown Flint. Last year, approximately 800 Santas stampeded through Flint in the inaugural running. As one of them, I thought it was pretty cool! Registration is now open, and if you sign up before November 12th you beat the price increase. Each entry includes a 5-piece Santa Suit.
October 20, 2011 The Greater Flint Arts Council in it's efforts to be ever evolving and supportive of the arts community, presents the second 2011 Jazz Walk. The event will take place at multiple venues in downtown Flint on Thursday, October 27th from 5-11 pm. Highly talented local jazz musicians will be playing in numerous clubs downtown.
October 20, 2011 At one time, Rosie O'Donnell reigned supreme as host of the syndicated "Rosie O'Donnel Show" and then as a talking head on "The View." But in a recent survey in which readers were asked to vote for their least favorite talk show host, the clear winner (or in this case, loser) is Rosie O'Donnell.

October 20, 2011 The 28-acre parcel purchased by an Indian tribe is still a hopeful site for them to build a casino. The land, near Lennon and Dutcher roads by Genessee Valley Center, would be used to build a casino, if legal wrangling will allow.
October 19, 2011 The Michigan State Police will partner with the Drug Enforcement Administration and other local law enforcement agencies for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day to provide a venue for citizens who want to dispose of unwanted and unused prescription drugs. The MSP's 29 posts will take part as drop-off points on October 29th from 10 am to 2 pm.
October 19, 2011 It's a location that hosted many Cars 108 events and parties. Today it is gone. The once popular eatery known originally as the Country Squire burned down over the weekend in what fire investigators term as a suspicious fire. Fire crews from at least a dozen area fire departments responded to the call about 6pm last Saturday. The building, formerly the home of restaurants like Broadstreet, R.C./ Coopers, and Bosley's, had been closed for almost 5 years. There was no electricity or gas service to the structure.
October 18, 2011 Here's something you don't get a chance to do every day. Kettering University's Interfraternity Council is hosting a 100-person tomato fight at 10:30 Saturday morning in the field behind the Kettering Recreation Center. Rotten tomatoes, donated by vendors from the Flint Farmer's Market will be thrown at opposing participants. A $5 entry fee will be charged to raise money to replace flood-damaged equipment at Durant Tuuri Mott Elementary School.
October 18, 2011 Hurley Medical Center is inviting everyone to a Women's Healthy Living Event "A Day Just For You 2+2" on Saturday to support and celebrate all women. The free event will be at the Riverfront Banquet Center from 10am to 2pm.
October 14, 2011 The Great Lakes Region of the American Red Cross (where we live) needs to collect approximately 700 units of blood each and every day to keep up with the needs of our community's hospitals. The need for blood and blood products never takes a day off. Locally, there is an immediate need for Platelets, a blood component used to treat cancer patients and others who are very sick.
