November 6, 2011 While the Christmas season hasn't offcially started for most of us, it's not too early to start planning for it. The Flint Downtown Development Authority is seeking participants for the 2011 Holiday Parade which annually features holiday-themed floats and banners. The parade is scheduled for Tuesday, November 29th at 6:00 pm. There is a top prize of $400 for the best-made float.
November 6, 2011 Tuesday is election day in Genesee County with many local issues to be decided. There are 3 different recalls to be voted upon. The most recognizable is the recall question of State Representative Paul Scott in the 51st District. If you live in Argentine, Atlas, Fenton, Grand Blanc and Mundy Township or in the cities of Fenton, Goodrich, Grand Blanc and Linden you will have a vote on this. There are also recalls for local positions in Flushing Township and Genesee Township.

It turns out that the aide who was supposed to ensure all students were safely off the bus somehow missed Deandre Jones, who was sleeping when the bus arrived at the school.

During her tenure at The Crim, the race has grown to over 10,000 participants in the signature 10-mile event.

October 31, 2011 Your kids had a great night of Trick-or-Treating on Halloween, and you're not really wanting them to eat that entire pillowcase full of candy. Save them of few of their favorites and take the rest at the Dental Care Team's Halloween Candy Buy-Back. The Dental Care Team will give you a dollar a pound for your candy, and will donate a dollar to the Children's Miracle Network for each pound. The collected candy will be divided between the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan for Holiday Baskets and for our troops overseas. The candy buy-back will take place on Wednesday, November 2nd from 3-6 pm
