You're probably trying to find the perfect gifts for everyone, but there are several items you shouldn't buy right now because the cost will be even cheaper in the next few months. I was really surprised to see televisions and cameras on the list of things not to buy because it seemed like there were a ton of deals on Cyber Monday. Yahoo suggests you should wait until February to buy these two items because new models will be out and retailers will want to get rid of the older stuff.
The Flint Cultural Center's 2011 Holiday Walk is Tuesday, December 6th from 5:15 to 8:30 pm all across the FCC's 30-acre campus. The event is FREE to all with something to delight every member of the family. The ceremonial lighting of the tree in between The Whiting and Sloan Museum will kick off the event at 5:15 pm.
Some people put up Christmas lights. And some people put on incredible Christmas light shows extravaganzas! (And yet others opt for hilarious, smartypants displays designed to end the Christmas-lights competitions once and for all!)
Check out this "epic" light show from Upper Canada Village in Ontario, after the jump.
Parents be warned, this article is not appropriate for young children. As a matter of fact, that type of disclaimer should have been used by a Chicago news station prior to what you are about to see.
It was after a story about the struggles many face when it comes to gift-giving during the holidays that WFLD Anchor Robin Robinson said Santa doesn't exist.
The second annual YMCA of Greater Flint Santa Run/Walk attracted approximately 1400 Santas to this year's event. Everyone who entered got a 5-piece Santa suit to run or walk in, and the turnout was tremendous
I worked in retail for a few years while putting myself through college. I never got "pranked" like this. Check out the fun at a Target store after the jump.
"Happy Holidays" or "Merry Christmas"? The salutation makes a big difference to some people these days. In the past few years, people have chosen sides on whether public entities, like schools and the government, should be using the word "Christmas", because of its religious connotation.
Here's proof even Santa has a bad day now and then. Santa's arrival at the Gardens Mall in Palm Beach, Florida was delayed Saturday when his beard got caught in rappelling equipment. This looks like it made for a painfully slow decent from the mall's ceiling. I hope this sort of thing doesn't happen when he comes to my house this Christmas.
Take the jump to see how Santa gets out of this tricky situation.
The 1st annual YMCA Santa Run attracted a stampede of 800 Santas last year. I was one of the Ho-ho-ho herd, and am pretty excited to do it again this Saturday (Dec. 3). The YMCA of Greater Flint Santa Run/Walk is a charity event featuring a 5k and 1 mile route around downtown Flint. The event is not timed and is open to everyone. Run, walk, bring your family and friends. Strollers are welcome! This event was a lot of fun and looks to be much bigger this year. The start/finish is at the Flint YMCA at 411 E. Third Street. The event begins at noon.
Traditional holiday appearances of Santa and the Flushing Candlewalk happen this Thursday in downtown Flushing! For the 28th year there will be ice sculptures, parades, pictures with Santa, and more!
Over the years I have seen a lot of weird family Christmas cards. I'm sure you have as well, maybe you've even been in a few. Have you ever seen one like this? It's definitely one way of making sure Christmas goes off with a bang.
Read more about this very different Christmas card and watch the video after the jump.
