Notes of encouragement were left on the tags of each hat, too.

It's so nice to see Flint and surrounding residents remembering those who don't have anywhere to go this winter.

Residents of Carriage Town Ministries participated in Operation: Warm Up yesterday. Each resident received their own knit hat (all 48 hats were knitted by Peggy Olsen) and then wrote a note of encouragement on the tags of the other hats. The hats were then placed around Carriage Town, with people encouraged to take them if they're in need.

Reminds me of just before Christmas, when a Burton Boy Scout troop made scarves for the homeless and tied them around trees and lamp posts in downtown Flint. Every little bit helps!
