A Byron Township woman is in jail after her son recognized her in surveillance photos released after a bank robbery in Grand Rapids on Tuesday (June 25), and called police.

Authorities say the Kent County woman robbed a Bank of America branch, handing the teller a note demanding $2,500 for her children and grandchildren. Soon after surveillance photos were released to media, her son and several others identified her as 53-year-old Dee Ann Sanders from Martin.

Reports indicate that she was ordered to be detained after Thursday's arraignment.
