I love little libraries! So excited that they've come to our area!

Barak Hernandez, who is a senior at Bendle High School and also enrolled at the U of M-Flint, created the libraries to be placed at West and South Bendle Elementary Schools.

He remembers his parents reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar to him as a child, and by fourth grade, he was at an adult reading level. He carried an encyclopedia with him wherever he went. He wants to make sure that everybody has the opportunity to read, and also, that teenagers are setting a good example for younger children.

In case you're not familiar with Little Libraries, or Little Free Libraries, it's basically a "take a book, return a book" opportunity. Take a book from the box, share your favorite book, and return the other after you read it. People have been building them all over the country; you can build your own, too. All the information is HERE.

Thank you, Barak! You ARE setting a great example for younger children.
