Burton Fire That Killed 10 Horses Called ‘Suspicious’ [VIDEO]

Prahin photo

I drove past the scene yesterday. What a horrible site. The word ‘suspicious’ was not a word I wanted to hear connected with this story. Sgt. John Richards the acting fire marshal with the Michigan State Police says the fire is suspicious and results from lab tests are now needed to reveal exactly how the fire started. The flames erupted around 4:00AM at the Midnite Sun Training Center in Burton, destroying the barn.

It was the third fire in recent days and because of that, the electricity had been shut off prior to the incident which raised suspicions. State fire investigators brought an accelerant dog to the property Wednesday to scour the scene.

10 horses were burned to death. More in the video.
