Britney Spears Ex-Nanny to Testify in Sam Lufti Trial

Britney Spears and her family are being sued for defamation by former manager Sam Lufti, and with the case scheduled to go to trial this week, a witness from the singer's past is set to take the stand.

Lufti filed suit in 2009 claiming breach of contract, defamation and libel stemming from Lynne Spears' tell-all, 'Through the Storm.' The book details Lufti's involvement in Britney's life leading up to her 2007 breakdown and court-mandated conservatorship, which was granted to the star's father one year later.

According to RadarOnline, ex-nanny Lourdes Torres, who took care of Britney's two sons beginning in 2008, plans to reveal eye-opening details of how Britney was emotionally manipulated during the conservatorship.

A source for the site says, "[Torres] will testify that she believes Britney was being emotionally manipulated in the conservatorship and will blow the lid off of what was really going on with her. [Torres] ended up quitting her job because she was so disturbed by what she saw was happening to Britney."

Lufti, the singer's fiance, Jason Trawick, and both of her parents are also set to take the stand. The judge overseeing Britney's conservatorship has ruled that she should not testify, as it could cause her “irreparable harm and immediate danger," reports Fox News.

The trial is expected to last three weeks, and legal experts are predicting it will be a spectacle. “It will be explosive for so many reasons," civil litigation attorney Anahita Sedaghatfar tells Fox. "Britney’s epic meltdown, in which the world witnessed her shaving her head and attacking the paparazzi with an umbrella, is once again going to be revisited. If Britney is indeed called, things could get very ugly fast."
