High-fives for Big Time Rush. The boy band, which stars in its own Nickelodeon show, has been declared the winner of the first annual Boy Band smackdown sponsored by PARADE magazine and Wetpaint Entertainment. The boys also appear on the cover of this Sunday’s (Aug. 5) issue of PARADE. Not too shabby!

Rushers answered the call and voted heartily for Kendall, Logan, Carlos and James. In total, over 800,000 votes were cast! BTR pulled out the big win and actually beat One Direction, who were the runners up yet are currently celebrating 12 million in sales. So something tells us that placing second wasn’t too big of a blow for 1D.

In their feature, Logan admits that the BTR boys “argue like brothers, but we love each other.” Aw! Being in a boy band is akin to family and fights are a normal and natural part of the process.

They also revealed that they wanted to be more involved in the process on their album ‘Elevate,’ which lead to them co-writing eight songs. They took the stance that it’s their album, so they needed to be as intimately involved as possible, as opposed to singing and dancing songs penned by others.

“The second time around we were like, ‘This is our band. We should be contributing to what it is,’” James said. Amen to that!

Logan also demonstrated the collective’s deep appreciation for fans by saying that they will always put fans first and never walk away or diss them. “For us to even say hi to someone, to change their day around or change something inside of them—that’s a pretty cool feeling,” he said.
