Best of 2010

We've discussed celebrity scandals, apologies and breakups in 2010, but what other stories do you remember from this year?  I was thinking about this yesterday and the one that I will never forget is the story of JetBlue employee Steven Slater.  Slater got into a fight with a passenger, then grabbed a beer and exited the plane by deploying the emergency slide.  How could you forget about the Deepwater Horizon oil spill or the earthquake in Haiti.  Or when the Chilean miners spent 69 days underground until they were finally rescued.

I also remember when a SeaWorld employee died in an attack by one of the killer whales.  This was also the year when the House approved healthcare reform legislation.  We also found out that important documents had been released by Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, who recently went to jail for sex crime allegations.

It's been an interesting year locally as well.  Suspected serial stabber Elias Abuelazam was arrested in Atlanta, layoffs took place for Flint police and firefighters and Genesys Regional Medical Center technical workers reached a tentative contract agreement.  Do you have other stories that you would like to add?  Or was there something that happened to you personally this year?
