Best Coffee in Flint — Our Top Five
Every morning just like a majority of the working population, I love my morning coffee, but lately in the office someone has been making a hazelnut flavored brew, disgusting! So I went on a search for Flint’s best cup of coffee asking my coworkers who had the best coffee in Flint. Find out more after the jump.
Starbucks’ “Skinny Caramel Latte”
Starbucks’ “Skinny Caramel Latte” was suggested by my General Manager, Zoe Burdine-Fly as one of Flint’s best cups of coffee. I’m not the Starbucks type, for some reason it always seems to pretentious, but according to Zoe, “it’s liquid gold.” Heres exactly what she had to say; “A skinny caramel latte from Starbucks … yes, it is coffee! It is the perfect combination of a no fat, sugar free beverage … only 130 calories of pure liquid gold.” Sorry Zoe, I’ll have to take your word on that and let you keep to the caramel stuff.
Tim Horton’s “Double Double”
The Canadian’s have more that just free health care and an abundance of wilderness, they also created Tim Horton’s. I have made a few trips thru the old Timmy Ho’s drive through, but I just order black coffee, and well, I’m in search of the best cup of coffee in Flint. Steph Wissinger, the Business Assistant (who by the way is Canadian) told me to try the Double Double; what ever that means … she told me it just meant two sugars and two creams, then why not say two sugar and two creams; please! Goofy Canadians have to make everything difficult, eh!
Speedway “Gas Station Coffee”
If I am forced to buy coffee, Speedway is the place that I would prefer to get my cup from. It always seems to be fresh, and if you prefer you can add all different types of flavors to make your cup of coffee just the way you want. Plus they have different blends to choose from which is always good. Check out some of their gourmet recipes that you can make right on the spot.
On my journey around the office in search of the elusive best cup of coffee in Flint, I ran into Matt Fantone, night DJ on our sister station Banana 101.5. Knowing he has to stay up late, and get up fairly early I knew he would have an idea where this best cup of coffee would exist. McDonald’s was his answer, not only can you get a good cup of coffee at a decent price, they also put the cream and sugar in there for you, that’s convenient. I’ll take mine with 5 sugars and 4 creams. I will also mention that they have a wide selection of specialty coffees in the McCafe.
Stu Allen’s House “Kona Lisa Coffee”
I couldn’t ask about a great cup of coffee without asking the king of coffee, Stu Allen, he comes in for his afternoon shift and the first thing he does is makes a pot of coffee, now that’s a coffee drinker. He told me the reason his house has the best cup of coffee is because he uses a Hawaiian blend from a company called Kona Lisa Coffee. Kona Lisa Coffee is family owned by a couple that Stu used to run with, they moved to Hawaii and started growing coffee. If I decide to take Stu’s word about the best cup of coffee in Flint, looks like I will be going to his house for coffee, or I could just buy my own Kona Lisa!
I now have a good selection of places to find the best cup of coffee in Flint, but if you feel you can top these, let me know and tell me why your choice is the best cup of coffee in Flint!
