If you haven't been able to catch the Tall Ships that come through Bay City once every few years, this weekend is your chance.

The 2016 Bay City Tall Ship Celebration, the sixth one during the last 15 years of the festival run, is happening this weekend, July 14-17 in Bay City on the Saginaw River. The Tall Ships are on their way across the Great Lakes now and will dock for the four-day festival.

For me, this is a great event to live out your pirate dreams, but for others I'm sure you will enjoy a ton of other events going on during the festival while you check out all the majestic tall ships. Here are a few of the events, you will find a full listing on tallshipcelebration.com

  • Saturday, July 16th and Sunday, July 17 from 9-11am - Pancakes with Pirates
  • Saturday, July 16th from 7-9p - Rock the Dock
  • Friday, July 15th, Saturday, July 16th, and Sunday, July 17th after 5p - Ballads & Brews
  • Each day, there are 'Make and Take' kid's crafts and nautical themed fun!
