‘Batman Vs. Superman’ Crews Are Preparing to Film Near Flint

Sources have revealed that the Ben Affleck/Henry Cavill starring ‘Batman Vs. Superman’ has “secretly” begun production near Flint. Where exactly will the Man of Steel and The Dark Knight be heading? You’ll have to keep reading to find out.

According to the Man of Steel Fan Page, the crew for the still-untitled Batman Vs. Superman movie has begun working… but not in Detroit as previously reported (but that will happen eventually). They’re just 26 miles east of Flint in Metamora Township. Township officials have confirmed that Warner Bros. crews are on location at the former Camp Metamora off Caley Rd in Lapeer County.

“This is a major Hollywood thing. From what I understand, they’re already out there doing stuff,” said township fire chief Dave Eady of the activities at the vacant camp now owned by the Girl Scouts of America. “They were being pretty secretive and not telling anybody anything.”

Eady also revealed that the crews were building a house on Otsikita Lake. “They’re building a home for one scene,” said Eady. “All they’re doing is one scene there, then they’re going to tear everything down like they were never here.”

For those hoping to get a peak at the action — don’t bother. Eady also said that security was incredibly tight. You don’t think that they’re going to leave just a couple of rent-a-cops guarding a multi-million dollar production, do you?

Ever since its announcement at Comic-Con, ‘Batman Vs. Superman’ has been the most anticipated live-action superhero movie ever made. On top of that, it’s going to be the most expensive film ever made in Michigan (spending $131 million on location) and maybe the most expensive film ever made. ‘Pirates of the Carribean: At World’s End’ holds the current record at $300 million, which ‘Batman Vs. Superman’ may have already passed for all we know. Filming is said to begin at the aforementioned location (and others) in February.
