This is what The Joker, The Penguin, and The Riddle have been waiting for since the 1960s.  Don’t bother with the Bat-signal; Batman is behind bars here in Michigan.

A 31-year-old Harbor Springs man has been arraigned after he was found on the roof of a hardware store in downtown Petoskey… dressed as Batman.  Mark Wayne Williams was arrested early Wednesday morning for trespassing and possession of dangerous weapons.

He faces three counts of carrying a concealed weapon, one for allegedly carrying Freeze Plus P, another for allegedly carrying a folding steel baton, and the third for allegedly carrying weighted Sap (sand filled) gloves.  He faces several other miscellaneous weapons charges.  My question is, ‘Where does he get those wonderful toys?’

Each count carries a maximum penalty of 5 years in prison or a $2,500 fine.  He also faces one count of disturbing the peace, a misdemeanor offense with a maximum penalty of 90 days in jail and, or a $500 fine.

A local radio station sent Robin out in to the streets to have residents sign a petition for Batman’s release.
