This race is one of my favorites.  It happens in the hottest part of summer, and the 15k course is one of the most challenging in the state of Michigan.  It also helps  Habitat For Humanity build homes for those in need.

If you're training for the Crim, this is a good race to test your mettle.  It has the 3 H's. Heat, Humidity and Hills.  The 5k course is pretty easy.  The 15k has a steady diet of rolling hills and then you must climb The Beast.  That would be Denton Hill.  Denton Hill is a steady climb of nearly 3/4 of a mile.  When you finally reach the top, you have a little over a mile to go to reach the finish.  If you have any legs left, you can hammer the downhill all the way to the finish on Leroy Street.  Celebrate your accomplishment with a baguette and some keg root beer!  Online signup is available through the end of this week at:  http://www.active.com/running/fenton-mi/bastille-day-5k-runwalk-and-15k-run-2011

In case you were wondering, 15k is 9.3 miles.
