Planning continues for Back to the Bricks, which will take place in August. Last week, I mentioned the Michigan Mitten Promo tour, which is one of the new venues for Back to the Bricks and today, Chairman & Founder Al Hatch talked about Tune-Up week, which is also new this year.

Al Hatch told us this morning: "Tuesday night it will start at the Clio Amphitheater and the first 250 people who bring their classic cars out will get a t-shirt. The next night head to Flint Township with events going on, courtesy of Patsy Lou. There will be a lot going on in the Miller Road corridor."

He also went on to tell us: "The Fenton Farmer's Market will have a car show and live concert on Thursday during Tune-Up week. Friday you can head to Davison for events going on in conjunction with their downtown cruise. If you are in Mt. Morris for the last day on Saturday, the streets will be closed while you enjoy food, entertainment and more."

Bricks Flix is the official kick-off and this year's movie will be 'Back to the Future,' which will be shown at the US 23 drive-in. Hatch said they had over 900 cars at Bricks Flix last year, so get there early.

At the end of Back to the Bricks, expect to see a grand finale on Saturday. The committee is bringing in outside entertainment, but Hatch says it's a secret for now. Tune-Up week and the Michigan Mitten Promo tour are two things that Al is looking forward to this year.

Keep in mind that Tune-Up week is August 9-13 and Back to the Bricks is August 16-20. Get it on your calendar so you'll have no excuses not to go this year. Hopefully we'll see you out there!
