I can't quite put my finger on it but whenever I see a classic car – like the cars that will be cruising around at Back to the Bricks this week – it brings back happy memories. Makes me think about my first car – it was a white 1965 Ford Mustang.

I bought it for $400 when I was working at WKYO in Caro.

There's one memory that always comes back when I think of that car. I was with my girlfriend at the time, showing her how great I could drive on a back road – outside of Caro on Cameron Road.

As we were traveling at a high rate of speed, I lost control and the car fishtailed. We hit the ditch and I put the car right on its side.

A local resident was working on his roof and saw what happened. He said, "All of a sudden I saw your car disappear in the weeds." He then pulled me out with his tractor.

It was a hard lesson to learn about showing off. I never did that again.

Have you ever made a stupid mistake while showing off in your car?
