As news of Avicii's death continues to spread, celebrities have taken to social media to pay their respects.

The Swedish producer and DJ, best known for hits including "Levels" and "Wake Me Up," was found dead on Friday afternoon (April 20), his publicist said in a statement, according to Variety.

A cause of death has not yet been disclosed, but the hitmaker has suffered from health issues for several years, including acute pancreatitis stemming from, in part, excessive drinking. He had his gallbladder and appendix removed in 2014, and in 2016, announced his retirement from live performing, citing health reasons.

Among the celebrities to mourn Avicii's loss are Calvin Harris, Adam Lambert, and Liam Payne. "Devastating news about Avicii, a beautiful soul, passionate and extremely talented with so much more to do. My heart goes out to his family. God bless you Tim," Harris tweeted.

Wrote Charlie Puth: "Wow, I would like to take a moment to pay tribute to the man who really opened my eyes as to what my productions could one day sound like. @Aviciiwas a genius and a music innovator, and I can not believe he is no longer with us. RIP to the very best.
