The Teddy Bear Patrol is a local tradition, where police officers and other first responders receive teddy bears to pass along to children during difficult times. The Grand Blanc Chamber of Commerce has purchased thousands of bears to hand out this year, but they are in need of volunteers to prepare the bears. Jet Kilmer of the Grand Blanc Chamber of Commerce says  "we have purchased 2,500 bears so far, so we just took delivery of 500 bears. 2,000 have been distributed through Genesee County and other areas. So, if there continues to be situations where children need to be soothed, we're just going to continue to do that and make sure that the bears are available for the sheriff department, police department and any other first responder who may need them."

If you would like to help get the bears ready, you can volunteer at the chamber between 9am and 5pm this week. You can also buy a bear for $30 at the chamber.
