If weekend travel plans involve M-15, you might want to rethink your route...unless you like the idea of garage sales as far as you can see. If that's the case, read on!

The 90 mile stretch of M-15 that runs from Clarkston to Bay City, and travels through Goodrich, Davison, Millington and Vassar will become a bargain hunter's dream come true this Saturday.

The annual M-15 Heritage Route Garage Sale, always held on the first Saturday in May, is a spring tradition for many, and if phone calls and emails are a good gauge for this year's event, it will be a huge success. The M-15 Coalition uses the huge Saturday garage sale as a way to promote M-15 as a more picturesque alternative to I-75 when traveling to the Tri-Cities area from Metro Detroit. The state has named M-15 as a Recreational Heritage Route for that reason.

Signs along M-15 will also point bargain hunters towards other yard sales that are in the area and several towns along the route have also sold vendor tables to people who don't live along M-15, but have stuff they'd like to sell.

For more information on this all day event, contact Jakkie Sidge, from the village of Goodrich at 810-636-2570, Shirley Kautman-Jones from Atlas Township at 810-636-2548 or Kathy Burman from Brandon Township at 248-627-4918.

If you have shopped along the M-15 Heritage Route Garage Sale, can you please offer some advice? Where are the best areas along M-15 for good stuff and great bargains?
