Following a very rough patch in my marriage as I battled and defeated my problem with alcohol, I was bound and determined to make it up to her, and I think I pulled it off as we celebrated ten years together.

We boarded the Carnival Ecstasy a week ago, just the two of us, no kids (thanks Mom & Dad!). For five days straight, we didn't have to think about work or being parents, we just enjoyed being with each other. No stress, no distractions, just the two of us enjoying everything that our getaway had to offer.

We rented bikes at our first port of call and explored Key West at our own pace. It was so cool to go for a bike ride along the famous A-1-A, and take US Highway 1 to its very end. When we got to Cozumel, we splurged a little to make an incredible memory: Exactly ten years (to the minute) after we said our 'I do's', we were snorkeling in the Caribbean Sea!

Reuniting with our kids was amazing. Spending so much time away from each other made us love each other more, and it was that much sweeter when they saw us pulling up. After a night at my parents' house to recharge my batteries, I drove straight home from Ft. Myers in just under 24 hours.

The overall trip was much more expensive that we had anticipated, I'm gonna be late on my car payment and we came home to a shut off notice from Consumers. But you know what? It was totally worth it! I'll share more details soon!
