Are we workaholics? Do people NOT get paid vacation anymore? Or are we afraid of losing our jobs?

A report from the U.S. Travel Association came out & found that Americans with paid time off (PTO) used only 16 of their approximate 20 vacation days last year. 169 million days of lost vacation days comes out to $52.4 billion in lost benefits.

The analysis said that, with workers working through their vacation, they're basically working for their employees for free. There's no direct cause for the decrease, other than the recession. The report ALSO says that people who don't use their vacation days are NOT more likely to get a raise or a bonus.

The President of the U.S. Travel Association says, "America's work martyrs aren't more successful. We need to change our thinking. All work and no play is not going to get you ahead - it's only going to get you more stress,"

I used to be a " work martyr," but that's changed since I became a mom. It's a hard mindset NOT to have!
