After last month's announcement that Southwest will be discontinuing their service from Flint to three cities, including Orlando, the news comes today that they will be adding services with Allegiant Air.

The official announcement will be made by Bishop International Airport at 10 AM today. Allegiant will offer non-stop flights to Tampa/St. Petersburg and Orlando/Sanford twice a weekm, starting in April. Allegiant says it will offer one-way fares to Florida for as low as $45 for a limited time.

"We're pleased to announce that eastern Michigan travelers now have new options for low-cost, nonstop travel to Florida," said Jude Bricker, Allegiant senior VP of planning. "We're confident that local travelers will take advantage of these flights and we look forward to making more vacations possible this spring."

According to their press release, they're also adding services from Dayton, Ohio. This will be the fifth air carrier to join Bishop International.
