Today is judgement day for Penn State coach Jerry Sandusky.
The best tennis players in the world, the start of the college football season and the MLB pennant races highlight the Labor Day weekend offerings. Here’s what sports events to watch on TV this weekend:
With the Jerry Sandusky scandal still fresh in their minds, Penn State University has taken some unusual steps to make changes to the way things used to be. There were many innocent victims in the Sandusky story including the young boys molested by him, the past, present, and future athletes at Penn State who will bear the NCAA punishments, and now you can add Neil Diamond to that casualty list.
The Jerry Sandusky scandal at Penn State had many innocent victims. First and foremost are the young boys abused by Sandusky, then there are the current and future Penn State players and students who will suffer for years under the weight of the NCAA punishments. And now you can add Neil Diamond to the casualty list.
The statue has come down, the memorials have been re-named and former Penn State coach Joe Paterno’s football legacy is now a thing of the past.

Former Penn State Coach Jerry Sandusky was found guilty of 45 child sex abuse charges on Friday, the jury reaching a verdict after a two-week trial.
The not-so prestigious award is the first of its kind, handed out by CelebTweets.com to "celebrities who demonstrate the exceptional ability to post something on Twitter that they immediately regret."

Jerry Sandusky, the man whose alleged sexual misconduct is at the center of the Penn State controversy, broke his silence Monday night with Bob Costas on NBC's Rock Center.
Sandusky admitted to showering with young boys, but otherwise dodged Costas' questions about accusations of sexual misconduct. "I could say that I have done some of those things. I have horsed around with kids, I have showered after workouts. I have hugged them, and I have touched their legs without intent of sexual contact," he said.
Listen to Costas' complete interview with Sandusky, and his lawyer Joseph Amendola after the break.
A picture is worth a thousand words. Ashton Kutcher posted the image of himself posing with an "I'm with stupid" sign after his insensitive and uninformed remarks about fired Penn State coach Joe Paterno. The tweet that stirred the controversy read:
The Penn State Board of Trustees announced Thursday it is firing longtime football coach Joe Paterno, as well as university president Graham Spanier. Both officials are accused of not reporting to police knowledge of sexual abuses against children by a member of their staff.
Legendary coach Joe Paterno may be in his final days on the sidelines at Penn State, according to The New York Times.
The report cites two unnamed sources close to the PSU Board of Trustees who say that, while the exact timing and manner of his exit is still being discussed, it is clear that Paterno will not be back to coach the Nittany Lions next season.
