There is no doubt that Back to the Bricks has become one of, if not he biggest event in Flint. I am pleased to announce that this year's events have already begun!
There were many events going on throughout Mid-Michigan on Saturday, and many of them ended prematurely. Severe Storms rolled through the area prompting several severe weather warnings, and dropping as much as five inches of rain in some spots in a very short period of time.
Back to the Bricks chairman Al Hatch says efforts are underway to erect more than a dozen statues of historic auto figures in the downtown area in conjunction with the annual "Back to the Bricks" event. The statues would be located around the downtown area, and in the college campus area. The first statue to go up would be that of Louis Chevrolet. It would honor him in this, the 100th anniversary of his namesake auto company.
Planning continues for Back to the Bricks, which will take place in August. Last week, I mentioned the Michigan Mitten Promo tour, which is one of the new venues for Back to the Bricks and today, Chairman & Founder Al Hatch talked about Tune-Up week, which is also new this year.
It's time to start getting ready for Back to the Bricks which will take place the end of August. To start promoting the event, people are getting ready for the Michigan Mitten tour, which starts June 17.
