A picture of Martin Richard, the 8 year-old who was killed in the  Boston Marathon bombing on Monday, is shown in a picture taken before the event where he is holding a sign that says, "No more hurting people. Peace."

The picture was posted on Facebook by a friend of Martin's former teacher. The picture is about a year old and was taken when Martin organized a walk for peace last year.

He was killed while waiting at the finish line with his family. Martin's mom and younger sister were critically injured in the blast that killed three people and injured hundreds more.

The loss for his father, Bill Richard, was devastating. “My dear son Martin has died from injuries sustained in the attack on Boston," said Richard. "My wife and daughter are both recovering from serious injuries. We thank our family and friends, those we know and those we have never met, for their thoughts and prayers. I ask that you continue to pray for my family as we remember Martin.’’

RIP, Martin.
