’24/7 Wall St.’ Names Flint ‘Most Dangerous City in America’
With 23.4 violent crimes per 1,000 people, Flint Michigan is now the most dangerous city in America, according to 2011 FBI crime data released Monday. Detroit follows closely behind at number two.

The data, analyzed by '24/7 Wall St.' conclude that no other US city with more than 100,000 residents, had a higher violent crime rate. Flint has the second-highest murder rate, and the highest rates of aggravated assault, burglary and arson in the nation.
Although police presence has been greatly reduced in recent years, Flint Mayor Dayne Walling cites the number of guns, and those with evil motives:
“There are too many guns on the street and it’s easy for individuals with evil motives to take another human being’s life.”
