A fitting tribute for the soldiers on Veterans Day.

A service was held yesterday at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly for 20 veterans whose remains had been abandoned at the former Cantrell Funeral Home in Detroit.

The funeral home was shut down earlier this year because of multiple violations and "unsanitary" conditions. 17 of the soldiers' remains were identified; three are still unknown.

A full military service with honors was held for them yesterday; their families received an American flag. Each of the identified soldiers' names were read, followed by a eulogy and a 21-gun salute with a playing of TAPS.
