The Flint police are offering $11.25 an hour for new recruits, which comes out to approximately $23,000 per year, before taxes.

Our city's crime rate has gone down significantly - homicides are down 13% from 2015 (that's for 2016 - we don't have total numbers for 2017 yet), but we're still the 21st most dangerous city in the United States.

So, you might be wondering the same thing we are - why would you ask ANYBODY to put their life on the line for $11.25 an hour in a city with as much crime as Flint? It's insulting.

Since there's nothing we can do about it at the moment, we decided to compile a list of jobs that pay more than an entry-level Flint police officer. All of the jobs listed are available in the Flint area and listed at indeed.com
