Great news coming from the Flint Institute of Art for the kids of Flint.

Mlive is reporting that the PNC Foundation, has awarded the FIA a $100,000 grant to help kids in Flint. The grant will help get staff into schools to help kids who have experienced learning disabilities due to lead for the next three years.

The program will be Head Start-based Success through Art (START), and the services will be available to all children in the Flint School system, especially Head Start programs. START will focus on possible trouble areas for lead exposed children with concentrations in language, literacy, cognitive skill, math, and emotional development.
