10-Year-Old Detroit Girl Sues Mom’s Ex For Custody of Dog [VIDEO]

Hannah Wise is only 10-years old, but she is wise beyond her years, filing a lawsuit against her mother's ex-boyfriend for custody of a pet poodle named 'Mystery'.

Wise and her mother Adrienne Lenhoff moved out of Mitchell Rechter's Farmington Hills home earlier this year when Lenhoff and Rechter called it quits.

At a story-telling event last Friday at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African-American History, Wise explained that the family had agreed that Rechter would care for the dog while mother and daughter got settled in a new home. It was intended that Hannah would be able to visit the dog, but Rechter has since closed the door, and refuses to give up custody of the pooch.

A hearing to determine Mystery's custody is set for July of 2014.
